2p! France is a fan interpretation of the Hetalia character as "Another Color". His appearance is based on his Nyo! counterpart, with his personality being fairly accepted within the fandom

The most popular human name given to him is François Bonnefoy (pronounced France-WA). Jacques, James, and Frank have also been used.

Appearance

2p! France's appearance varies depending on the depiction. He is shown to be physically similar to his counterpart, though with many color differences.

2p! France is often depicted with a melancholic expression. He has sullen, purple eyes, and messy, should-length blond hair that is occasionally seen tied into a low ponytail. He usually has a noticeable 5 o'clock shadow or a stubble of some kind. He is almost never seen without a cigarette.

He typically wears a purple button-up shirt, sometimes with a brown suit coat over it. He wears dark purple or black pants. Unlike his counterpart, he is very rarely, if ever, seen wearing anything too flashy or fancy. The reason for his plain manner of dress can be because he has no sense of style or simply because he's too lazy or uncaring to put together an interesting outfit.

Original design and credit

The creator of 2p! France, since he didn't have a confirmed canon appearance, was tumblr user Epouvantail, also known as Jessie Winterholler. She was part of a larger 2p! community responsible for many now widely accepted designs. The character was mostly established through the art/rp blog ask-2pfrance.

Tragically, Jessie died in a car accident. Her death is what caused a lot of the original creators and artists to disengage with the fandom because it wasn't the same without her. She was too young and a talented artist and someone who shaped the Hetalia fandom permanently. She shouldn't be forgotten.

Sketch

2p! France's official sketch

Himaruya created sketches of the Allies imagined as 2p!s, but they never became canon as the sketches weren't finalized. In France's concept sketch, his hair is pulled back into a ponytail. He has stubble on his chin, the same as his counterpart's. He wears a sort of military uniform with a beret. Some kind of long fabric swirls around his legs. He holds a rifle, possibly a bayonet. He has a serious expression on his face.

Personality

2p! France has no official personality. Fans of Hetalia have created personalities for the 2p! characters, some more widely accepted than others. Common and well-known depictions are listed below.

General Personality

• He is more "lust" than "love". He is a pervert, and is often seen at brothels or bars. He is easily unfaithful in relationships.
  • On the other hand, he may be depicted as being asexual and/or aromantic.
• He falls under the stereotype that Frenchmen are unpleasant and rude. He tends to be lazy and selfish. He puts up an offensive and vulgar front.
• He has no vigor for life and just spends his time with shallow pleasures. He may even be depressed.
• He doesn't really have any friends and sees everyone as basically worthless. He likes to argue with others.

Specific Traits and Quirks

• He is a heavy drinker and smoker.
• He only likes things and people from his own country. He refuses to eat anything from other countries, unless it is very high-class and fancy. He doesn't like tourists, either.

2p! France's relationships depend on the person making the story. Common and well-known depictions are listed below.

• 1p! France - The two of them argue a lot, though halfheartedly on 2p! France's side.
• 2p! America, 2p! Canada & 2p! England - They are sometimes depicted as having a familial relationship with 2p! France.
• 2p! Monaco - 2p! France is a big brother-like figure to 2p! Monaco. Despite the fact that 2p! France keeps trying to push her away, she still tries her best to get his attention.
• 2p! Seychelles - In one depiction, he shown to be a father figure to her. In another, 2p! France completely forgets about her, which causes her to hate him.

1p! France vs. 2p! France

• 1p! France is very fashionable and puts a lot of effort into his appearance. 2p! France doesn't care about how he looks at all, putting no effort into making himself look good.
• 1p! France welcomes tourists. 2p! France despises them.
• 1p! France is very flirty and sexual, but never does anything truly harmful. 2p! France does not really control his lust and easily becomes unfaithful. In darker depictions, he may be depicted as sexually harassing or abusing others.

Common 2p! Traits

It is common for 2p!s to be portrayed as violent and obsessive. To most, they are a darker version of the original nations. However, because the original nations can be portrayed in the same way by the fandom, how much hold this has depends on the person making the story, artwork, or cosplay.

2p! France is usually depicted as being more cynical and rude than genuinely aggressive. However, he can be depicted with weapons, such as knives, or, in rare cases, a broken wine bottle.
