2p! Nyo! Japan is an original character design by Hidekaz Himaruya called "Another Color". She is the Nyo! counterpart to 2p! Japan. Her appearance is official, but her personality is not, though it is fairly agreed upon in the fandom.

The most popular human name for her is Honda Akane (本田茜), or Akane Honda in the Western name order. Akane means "deep red", which reflects the color of her eyes. This also reflects her male counterpart's name meaning black, the other prominent color in their designs. Other suggested names for her are Tobi, Kimiko, Sakura and Tsubaki.

Appearance

2p! Nyo! Japan is shown to be physically similar to her counterpart, though with many color differences.

Nyo! Japan looks similar to her male counterpart. Both wear an altered imperial Japanese Navy uniform, and she shares his red eyes and serious facial expression. Her hair is still black, but is slightly red-toned.

Her uniform jacket is the same color as well, however it has two long tails as opposed to a cape, which stop at the end of her skirt. At the tips of the tails and the bottom front corners of the jacket are partial chrysanthemum marks, the imperial seal of Japan. Her pleated skirt is white with a gold trim along the bottom. Her hair is adorned is a red spider lily. However, unlike her male counterpart, she carries a naginata as opposed to a katana in her right hand. She holds a charm in her left hand.

Personality

2p! Nyo! Japan has no official personality. Fans of Hetalia have created personalities for the 2p! characters, some more widely accepted than others. The 2p! Nyo! characters may have similar personalities to their 2p!s, but may also have many differences. Common and well-known depictions are listed below.

General Personality

• She is very serious. She rarely smiles, though she may if she knows she's about to win against an opponent. She is very closed off towards other people
• Honor is everything to her. She will kill those who she thinks lack honor. She is merciless with doing away those she feels are unfit to live. She may even resort to torture to get her point across. She will also severely punish herself if she does something she deems dishonorable, such as losing a battle.
• She is usually blunt and to-the-point when talking to others. However, she is very polite when talking to her country's leaders and officials. She is a country of few words.
• She is violent when angered, but she still won't insult someone who angers her to their face, just in private.

• She is an open pervert and likes hentai.
  • On the other hand, she may be depicted as hating hentai.
• She trains non-stop do defend against surprise attacks. She rarely rests.

• 2p! Nyo! Italy - The two of them don't get along well at all, since they both want to take control of the Axis.
• 2p! Nyo! China - They have fought on multiple occasions. They do not get along.
• 2p! Nyo! America - 2p! Nyo! America was the first one to break 2p! Nyo! Japan out of her two hundred year isolation. They had a rocky start to their relationship, but they've warmed up to each other over the years.

1p! Nyo! Japan vs. 2p! Nyo! Japan

• 1p! Nyo! Japan is a yamato nadeshiko, the Japanese ideal of a perfect woman. She is kind, obedient, and motherly. 2p! Nyo! Japan is anything but these things, being very unforgiving, self-serving, and violent.
• 1p! Nyo! Japan likes Western culture. 2p! Nyo! Japan may be depicted as hating the West because she believes everything that she does is superior.

Common 2p! Traits

It is common for 2p!s to be portrayed as violent and obsessive. To most, they are a darker version of the original nations. However, because the original nations can be portrayed in the same way by the fandom, how much hold this has depends on the person making the story, artwork, or cosplay.

2p! Nyo! Japan is depicted as being very war-centric, a reference to how the Japanese government acted in WWII. She is often shown using her naginata and a katana to attack and kill others. Her honor is tied to her position in battle, so she always strives to win in the most ruthless ways possible.
